Sundance got serious about fine-tuning their Park City at Midnight section this year. The section which I normally only dabble in to fill up voids in my scheduling has got enough worthy films this year that are potentially worth the detour - commencing with a film I mentioned last week -- Black Dynamite! With a name like "Surveillance", people are sure to notice. Or, at least, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures. Fresh off the truck from Cannes, Magnet Releasing announced their purchase of the domestic rights to Jennifer Lynch's (yes, daughter of David) mind-bending "Surveillance".
Getting ever so closely to the Top 10, our top 20 is filled with an interesting mix of heavyweights (Tarantino, Cronenberg, Boyle and Wes Anderson) and up-and-comers (Sachs, Gillespie, Tarsem, Perelman). Enjoy!
