2010 Ophir Awards Race: Moshe Ivgy’s ‘And on the Third Day’ is the Leader of the Pack

Hands down, Ivgy's And on the Third Day is the best Israeli film of 2010. With several connecting stories of men being cruel towards women (physically, sexually, and psychologically), with a concluding apocalypse, this is a Magnolia-type picture minus the frogs.

2010 Toronto Int. Film Festival Predictions

You'd think a festival with 300 + film title offerings would pretty much covers all bases, but I think there'll be more broken hearts than usual as a result of the unbalanced production year that was 2009. Interview : Ozana Oancea (First of all, Felicia)

They say you're never to old to learn a new trick, as is the case for Ozana Oancea. A graduate from The National University of Theater and Cinematography I.L. Caragiale back in 1991, Oancea waited a long time before taking on her first on screen role. First of all, Felicia is the helming debut from co-directors Razvan Radulescu and Melissa de Raaf and judging from her response in this interview, I'd say she's now got the "on screen" acting bug.

Key Players in the Cannes Market: Memento Films

Among those they have tapped for the fest they have a premium Midnight Screening for Gilles Marchand's Black Heaven and they are closing the festival with Julie Bertuccelli's The Tree.

Updated List: Forecasting The Director’s Fortnight and Critic’s Week Picks

With the Un Certain Regard category pretty much complete, we can now focus our attention on next week's announcements for the sidebar sections of the Director's Fortnight and Critic's Week. I've listed a whopping 26 films and I'm confident that several will show up in the approximate 30 or so feature films with many first-time works that will make up both sections (put together).
