Randomness: Take This Waltz, The Loneliest Planet, Higher Ground, Midnight in Paris, Melancholia

Date:

Here’s a collection of paparazzi, normal folk shot and press conference photo odds & ends on projects that we’re already keeping close tabs on. Not sure if I’m going to make this a regular feature on the site, perhaps an infrequent Friday visual update. In descending order we have Sarah Polley giving direction to Sarah Silverman who plays Geraldine — a probable BFF to Michelle Williams romantically involved character in Talk this Waltz. Filming is taking place in Toronto as Toronto.

Another female filmmaker also working on her sophomore film, the following pic is of director Julia Loktev who is surveying the backdrop for The Loneliest Planet. The shot in Caucasus Mountains in Georgia is described as a chamber-piece set in a landscape that is both overwhelmingly open and frighteningly closed. Gael García Bernal Hani Furstenberg star as a young couple backpacking in the beloved spot.

Here is a random set pic for New York State location for Higher Ground, Vera Farmiga’s directorial debut. Farmiga also acts in the film taking the titular role of Corinne Walkers, but the shot below comes across as retro — my feeling is that it has to do with her teenage-hood portion of the storyline. Following this we have several pics from the Woody Allen Paris set rom com — which will include several nights shoots as the film is called Midnight in Paris. The final batch of pics are from the opening press conference Lars von Trier had for Melancholia – you’ll notice Charlotte Gainsbourg next to Kirsten Dunst in the line-up.
