From Getting Stoned to Getting ‘Highness’: Universal taps David Gordon Green for Comedy

Date:

Going from getting high in The Pineapple Express to now venturing into dragons and swords times with Your Highness, David Gordon Green is going way off the mark of his indie roots and choosing an unpredictable career path. With a screenplay for a remake of Suspiria and attached to direct a John Grisham project The Innocent Man  as a project that is in the pipline,  now Universal Pictures have tapped the filmmaker for a Jaunary start to a project scripted by a buddy of the filmmaker.

Proviing once again that getting the best parts in Hollywood is by writing yourself in them, actor Danny McBride (who got his start in DGG’s All the Real Girls and has his first headlining feature out in release today with The Foot Fist Way) scripted the project with Ben Best where McBride would play
an arrogant, lazy prince who must complete a quest to save his father’s
kingdom.

Scott Stuber will produce via his Universal-based company.
