Date:

Slumdog Millionnaire

#46. Slumdog Millionaire

Director:
Danny Boyle
Writers: Simon Beaufoy  (The Full Monty)

Producers: Christian Colson (The Descent)

The Gist: Based on true events, script by Simon Beaufoy this concerns an illiterate street kid from Mumbai who wins the jackpot on the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

Fact: This is actor Dev Patel big screen debut.

See It: One of the better scripts of 2007 – I’m thinking this will strike a cord with international audiences – think: feel good story for adults you haven’t grown up.

Release Date/Status?: Currently filming – they have this pegged as a 2009 release – I say it will be ready by the holiday season.
