Queen Victoria was feisty and ‘Blunt’

Date:

Now that Cate Blanchett is too old to play the part, in comes Golden Globe winner and hot piece of Brit property thesp Emily Blunt to play a feisty role of the Queen. For those keeping score: this is not the mother of the Helen Mirren character/true life person we saw in the Stephen Frears biopic.

This is a project that was recently brought together by Graham King's Initial Entertainment Group and Martin Scorsese with Canadian fillmaker Jean-Marc Vallee on board to direct and Julian Fellowes as scribe for the pic. The historical pic is chronicling the turbulent early years of Queen Victoria's rule and her romance with Prince Albert.

As mentioned above, Blunt is on a hot streak, with The Young Victoria only to see the light of day not until 08/09, the actress will be seen in Wind Chill, The Great Buck Howard, The Jane Austen Book Club and indie film Sunshine Cleaning.
