Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Jacques Perrin’s and Jacques Cluzaud’s Oceans

You won't need a pair of 3D glasses to be wowed by what Perrin has been working on for the past five years. Oceans should provide for more than just beautiful imagery and fun loving animals, expect there to be more pressing thematic elements working for it than his predecessor debut film, Winged Migration. This doc should overwhelm the senses, and the Disney folks could very well have an event film on their hands.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Ken Loach’s Route Irish

With two films dealing with the infamous "Green Zone" strip, by preference, I want raw, and complex human emotions with my non-fiction backdrop. My vote goes to the Ken Loach and Paul Laverty tandem.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Aleksandr Sokurov’s Faust

Not a remake of Murnau's 1926 film, but the closing chapter in Sokurov's grouping of four films under the theme of corruption is an absolute must for film snobs. Having only seen three of his works, I can't say I'm much of an expert on the filmmaker, but the chosen subject should be an interesting figure to highlight in Sokurov commonly known aesthetic that draws upon nature's surroundings and natural light to add descriptive layers to his characters.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2010: Lee Chang-dong’s Poetry

After seeing the type of performance he can extract from Jeon Do-yeon in Secret Sunshine, I'm curious to know what he'll do with a sixty-year old legendary actress who has been on an acting sabbatical for almost two decades. Could be a poignant representation of solitude in old age.
