2024 Oscars: Rodrigo Moreno’s “The Delinquents” is Argentina’s Nomination for Best International Film

It was pretty much a forgone conclusion that after Rodrigo Moreno’s The Delinquents was all the buzz in Cannes (of what turned out to be another solid Un Certain Regard selection) that it would be gunning to represent Argentina at the Oscars. It was announced today that The Delinquents (Los Delincuentes) is now part of the derby for this season’s international feature film noms. Mubi just put out materials for the film which was selected for TIFF and NYFF. Worth noting, Argentina, 1985 was the winner at the Golden Globes and was among the five finalists last year. But The Delinquents is indeed a different beast. Here are all the current films selected by country.
