It’s the fall film festival season folks! And the party kicks off in style on the Lido with the legendary Venice Film Festival. With a lineup of nearly one hundred feature films, the question on every cinephile’s mind is: what are the must-see future masterworks? IndieSponge’s Kevin Jagernauth and I have been scouring the list and we are absolutely buzzing over the Lido offerings (some of which will move over to Telluride, Toronto and NYFF) and so we offer our five most anticipated picks! From auteur-driven dramas to genre items and heavyweight docus, these are the films we cannot wait to devour.

Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist, and critic at IONCINEMA.com, established in 2000. He is a Golden Globes Voter, member of the ICS (International Cinephile Society), FIPRESCI and AQCC (Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma).
