Interview: Cutter Hodierne – Cold Wallet (Work in Progress)
He wasn’t the first and certainly will not be the last to launch big at Sundance with a directorial debut and then take a bit more time to navigate his way through a sophomore feature — a narrative that Cutter Hodierne would put together while the iron was hot. Following Fishing Without Nets, Hodierne now moves into the murky world of crypto. Anchored by a script penned by John Hibey (a participant in the 2023 Sundance Screenwriting Lab), Hodierne not only directs but also produces alongside Vanishing Angle’s Benjamin Wiessner (known for Werewolves Within) and Hibey. Cold Wallet, a heist thriller, exudes a vibe that seamlessly oscillates between a comedy noir, overt slapstick and the intricate layers of the criminal underworld. I had the opportunity to engage in conversation with Cutter once again, this time in Wroclaw.
