2012 Cannes Film Festival Predictions: Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time

Date:

Gist: Birth of the universe and the origin of life — think The Tree of Life floor clippings.

Prediction: I think Voyage of Time taking over the Palais is highly likely, but with a trio of other films on Malick’s plate, a more accurate prediction would be to date this docu-essay as a possible festival selection in three, or even four years from now. While I don’t mind sitting in for a four to six-hour stretch in the Croisette’s house of worship, I’d much prefer seeing the IMAX project in an IMAX setting.
