Screen Media & Focus World Team to Make Cider with Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s C.O.G.

Date:

After last month’s deal on the Park City preemed, Liz W. Garcia’s dramedy The Lifeguard, Deadline reports that Screen Media and Focus Features’ Focus World have combined forces once again, securing North American rights on their 2013 Sundance title in Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s C.O.G.. After stops in other American indie fests such as Dallas and Sarasota, the pic will have a release sometime this year. On paper these deals are adding clout to Screen Media theatrical business, while allowing Focus to continually build a library.

Gist: This is about a cocky young man travels to Oregon to work at an apple farm. Out of his element, his lifestyle and notions are picked apart by everyone who crosses his path.

Worth Noting: This was the first ever film adaptation of David Sedaris’ work.

Do We Care?: Wasn’t on our radar when we first went into the festival and lackluster reviews means we won’t be running out to see it neither.
