Ramin Bahranis Cannes Directors’ Fortnight selected Chop Shop (2007) was followed by Lido selected 2008’s Goodbye Solo, 2012’s At Any Price, 2014’s 99 Homes with 2021’s The White Tiger (read review) and docu 2nd Chance (2024 – Sundance Film Festival) as his latest oeuvres. Written by Bahareh Azimi and Bahrani, beneath the glow of the Las Vegas Strip a gifted graphic designer living out of her car falls into an intense romance with a welder and single father as protective in-laws and the return of her self-destructive ex threaten to unravel their fragile attempt at love.

A starry ensemble consists of Maika Monroe, Brandon Sklenar, Paul Dano, Judy Greer, Beau Foxx, Maximilliana, Dylan Flashner, Natasha Yi, and Bahrani re-teams with Michael Shannon for a third time after 99 Homes and Fahrenheit 451.

Noruz Films’ Ramin Bahrani and Bahareh Azimi joined forces with A/Vantage Pictures’ Jason Michael Berman and Jordan Moldo, Juniper Productions’ Matthew Lindner, and Maika Monroe as producers.

Production wrapped up back in February this year so they’d be aiming for Telluride, Venice and/or Toronto as a high value acquisitions title — especially the Lido the same premiere location where his mentor Amir Naderi’s Vegas: Based on a True Story (2008) premiered.
