It’s been four years since Ponyo, but the creator of My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away needs know introduction in our books.

Gist: Based on the novel by Tatsuo Hori, this is a look at the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed Japanese fighter planes during World War II.

Release Date: Depending on where the emphasis is placed internationally, Hayao Miyazaki’s Porco Rosso 2 might receive a coveted festival slot beforehand. The Wind Rises will be released in Japan this year, but we might have to wait as we usually do for domestic play in the U.S.
