Top 200 Most Anticipated Films for 2014: #117. Anne Sewitsky’s Homesick

Date:

Homesick

Director: Anne Sewitsky
Writer: Ragnhild Tronvoll
Producer: Maipo Film’s Synnøve Hørsdal
U.S. Distributor: Rights Available
Cast: None announced.

After winning the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2010 for her debut feature, Happy, Happy, Norwegian director Anne Sewitsky followed up with a children’s film a year later, Totally True Love. Now, she’s back with her third feature, scripted by Happy scribe Tornvoll. We’re excited to see her latest, which is apparently all about “family, belonging, and destructive love.”

Gist: Charlotte has found a new home with her boyfriend Dag and best friend Martha’s family, when she learns that she has a 10-year-younger brother; they meet, and her life is changed.

Release Date: We’re thinking this will show up at fall festival, though her major win at Sundance could very well see Sewitsky push this to Berlin or Sundance 2015.
