2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Untitled Joshua Z Weinstein Hassidic Film Project

For the better part of the last decade, the cinematographer/additional photographer has built himself an incredibly vast curriculum vitae and perhaps 2017 is when Joshua Z Weinstein breaks bread or in this case, the matzo. The Untitled Hassidic Film Project has been included as part of the IFP 2015 Narrative Lab, 2016 IFP Filmmaker Labs (here is an account on the experience) and was a 2016 US in Progress Wrocław participant, and perhaps the entirely shot in Yiddish on location in Hasidic Brooklyn piece will makes us even more curious sampling of the world that was offered in Maxime Giroux’s Félix et Meira.

Gist: This is a drama on faith and fatherhood.

Production Co./Producers: Joshua Z Weinstein, Alex Lipschultz (Computer Chess), Traci Carlson (Hits), Daniel Finkelman (The Last Survivor), Yoni Brook (Valley of Saints).

Prediction: NEXT section. Tribeca.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). TBD (international)
