MEMORY Presents Program No.1: Streaming Shorts From Robert Eggers, Pippa Bianco & Celia Rowlson-Hall

It’s easy to get lost or go bonkers with the deluge of channels, but every now and then we find curation with a purpose. Stacked with future “it” players in the indie film sphere, if you follow this site, names such as Patrick Brice, Robert Eggers, Celia Rowlson-Hall and Pippa Bianco (she is attending the Sundance Labs next month) are known entities. After surfing up shorts program in North American cities, MEMORY Presents: Program No. 1 is finally at your door and presenting their short work. Here is the press release:

BROTHERS – Directed by Robert Eggers (WORLD PREMIERE)
Robert Eggers first feature film THE WITCH won the U.S Dramatic Competition Directing Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and has since been a box office sensation. His short film Brothers is an exclusive premiere.

THE TALE OF HILLBELLY – Directed by Encyclopedia Pictura (WORLD PREMIERE)
Filmmaking collaborative Encyclopedia Pictura are a creative force best known for its distinctive award winning music videos for artists like Björk, Panda Bear, and Grizzly Bear amongst others. They return with a new piece of visual wizardry, several years in the making, that’s not to be missed.

SHARE – Directed by Pippa Bianco
Pippa Bianco’s short film has won both the Cinéfondation award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and Special Jury Recognition at this years’ SXSW Film festival. Pippa was also recognized as 25 New Faces of Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine.

HANG LOOSE – Directed by Sammy Harkham & Patrick Brice (EXCLUSIVE)
Co-Director Sammy Harkham is an acclaimed and award winning graphic novelist, as well as the editor of the “Kramer’s Ergot” series, that is considered amongst most influential comic anthologies today. Co-Director Patrick Brice’s is the director of the indie comedy hit THE OVERNIGHT, as well as the found footage indie horror film CREEP.

LEWIS – Directed by Fantavious Fritz (EXCLUSIVE)
Canadian filmmaker Fantavious Fritz’ latest short film, Lewis follows the life of a missing cat, as he intersects with and observes the going ons of the neighborhood.
Fantavious’ films have screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival and Slamdance amongst others.

THE AUDITION – Directed by Celia Rowlson-Hall
Famed choreographer, Celia Rowlson-Hall was recently named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film. Her first feature film MA had its world premiere at the 2015 Venice Film Festival and won the Breakthrough Audience Award at the 2015 AFI Film Festival.

Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist and critic at IONCINEMA.com (founded in 2000). Eric is a regular at Sundance, Cannes and TIFF. He has a BFA in Film Studies at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013 he served as a Narrative Competition Jury Member at the SXSW Film Festival. He was an associate producer on Mark Jackson's This Teacher (2018 LA Film Festival, 2018 BFI London). In 2022 he served as a New Flesh Comp for Best First Feature at the 2022 Fantasia Intl. Film Festival. Current top films for 2022 include Tár (Todd Field), All That Breathes (Shaunak Sen), Aftersun (Charlotte Wells).
