Girlhood, Interrupted: Carolina Cavalli Set to Trace “The Kidnapping of Arabella”

Date:

After grabbing the international film festival circuit by storm with her directorial debut in Amanda (2022 Venice, TIFF) and to an extent Babak Jalali’s Fremont (2023 Sundance) as a co-scribe, Carolina Cavalli is now prepping her sophomore feature in Il Rapimento di Arabella (The Kidnapping of Arabella). Casting began a couple of weeks back for the young film’s lead. From what we understand, Benedetta Porcaroli will be re-teaming with the filmmaker but the protagonist’s role will be offering to the young female lead. Filming is set for Emilia Romagna region in August lining this up a potential Lido offering for 2025. Look for production details and further casting news in the weeks to come. Oscilloscope Laboratories just released Cavalli’s Amanda on home video.
