A New Michel Franco Film Set for 2026 Launch?

Date:

“I already shot it and I’m editing now.” While Michel Franco is currently working on a documentary film in Poland, in a recent sit down with Variety at Karlovy Vary, we learn that he has already shot another feature — this time not with Jessica Chastain. The under-the-radar shoot would have occurred sometime after the presenting Dreams (read review) at the Berlinale back in February. We don’t have a title, plot line or anything else to work with but we’ll be digging for info (Match Factory is probably the sales agent) and we imagine that this was shot with cinematographer Yves Cape. Will he be re-submitting to the Berlinale next year or make a long-awaited return to Cannes (his last trip was for 2017’s April’s Daughter)? As for the docu, we’ll see where that journey leads him.
