Key Players in the 2012 Cannes Film Market: Kinology

This year the Grégoire Melin’s Kinology can do no wrong – they nabbed the best real-estate on the Croisette and reminded us that Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers will surely be much talked about upon release and they’re sprinkled out a little bit everywhere else on the Croisette from the Main Comp with Cosmopolis, the Directors’ Fortnight with opening film from Gondry (The We and the I) and a Special Screening status in the Critics’ Week for Alice Winocour’s debut, Augustine (see pic of actress Soko above). Here is the other European titles they have in store.

Eric Lavallée is the founder, CEO, editor-in-chief, film journalist and critic at IONCINEMA.com (founded in 2000). Eric is a regular at Sundance, Cannes and TIFF. He has a BFA in Film Studies at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. In 2013 he served as a Narrative Competition Jury Member at the SXSW Film Festival. He was an associate producer on Mark Jackson's This Teacher (2018 LA Film Festival, 2018 BFI London). In 2022 he served as a New Flesh Comp for Best First Feature at the 2022 Fantasia Intl.
