Louis-Dreyfus Has Affair with Gandolfini; Holofcener Teams with Fox Searchlight for her 5th Feature Film

An expert in the human condition, Nicole Holofcener is returning to a theme she knows best: relationship woes. One of the rare indie female filmmakers to continually receive distribution deals will direct her fifth feature film, a currently untitled pic for Fox Searchlight. Additionally, Deadline reports that Julia Louis-Dreyfus who hasn’t been in front of the lenses of a feature film since Deconstructing Harry would topline alongside James Gandolfini (who’ll be in Cannes promoting Killing Them Softly). Anthony Bregman’s Likely Story which has produced all of Holofcener’s films since Lovely & Amazing, will be producing the project. Don’t be surprised if Catherine Keener joins the project as well in some capacity.

Gist: Louis-Dreyfus will play a masseuse who falls in love with the husband (Gandolfini) of a new friend. Expect additionally casting news to reveal the supporting female player.

Worth Noting: Bregman tied up Holofcener for writing duties on Every Secret Thing – an adaptation of the novel. With Diane Lane attached, this is about a detective who looks to unravel a mystery surrounding missing children and the prime suspects: two young women who, seven years ago, were put away for an infant’s death.

Do We Care?: Definitely a fan of Holofcener as her more recent pair of films in Please Give and Friends With Money weren’t too shabby.
