Teenage girls who frequent slumber parties and guys who like to watch big things blow-up can both rejoice.  According to THR, Michael Bay‘s production company Platinum Dunes is on board to produce a pic based on Hasbro’s classic paranormal conjuring game, Ouija.  For now, the narrative is being kept under wraps, but some crazy stuff is guaranteed to unfold on the big screen for this project.  Hasbro has signed up for a six-year strategic partnership with Universal for the Ouija pic.

Platinum Dunes is run by Bay with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, known for their horror remakes of classics from the 60s, 70s and 80s (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, The Hitcher).   Currently in the company’s future are remakes of A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Birds, Friday the 13th and Rosemary’s Baby.  But its time to teach this dog some new tricks.  The unnamed Ouija project will be a “supernatural adventure” (and not a remake).  And adding perhaps a younger tone to the film, scribe David Berenbaum is set to pen the screenplay.  Berenbaum is the penman responsible for Elf, Zoom, The Spiderwick Chronicles and The Haunted Mansion– not exactly Platinum Dunes’ cup of tea.

Platinum Dunes is currently working on the original supernatural thriller Unborn, directed by David Goyer.
