Memento Films have a mandate to work in a grassroots manner – when they take on a project they don’t take half a dozen others to pay the bills. Last year’s films included an esteemed batch of autuer films in: Goodbye Solo, Wendy & Lucy, The Class, Wonderful Town, Under the Bombs and Grown Ups. This year they get to showcase Kamen Kalev‘s Eastern Plays (Director’s Fortnight) and Raya Martin‘s Independencia (Un Certain Regard) in the comps.
