Daily Recommendation 09.30.08: PBS’ P.O.V.: Critical Condition

Date:

For today’s IONCINEMA.com Daily Recommendation we suggest:

If I were born in the U.S, my parents would most likely still be paying off some medical bills for a grave, childhood accident of mine I had back in 83′. In a subject matter that Michael Moore recently explored in Sicko, just in time for the U.S. Election, PBS’s P.O.V series explores a hot topic issue via Roger Weisberg‘s Critical Condition – a docu on the health care crisis that has crippled middle class and poor America.

The four people profiled in Critical Condition live in places as diverse as Los Angeles; Austin, Texas; and Bethlehem, Penn., but they face distressingly similar obstacles to surviving without health insurance. It is through their eyes and words that we are taken through the gaping holes in the health care system, where care is often delayed or denied. Ultimately, the unforgettable subjects of Critical Condition discover that being uninsured can cost them their jobs, health, homes, savings, and even their lives.

Critical Condition starts at 9 PM EST. Check Local Listings
