Daily Recommendation: Rudo y Cursi

Date:

IONCINEMA.com Daily Recommendation

It opened late in 2008 in Mexico and premiered at Sundance (I was on hand for opening night) and I have been looking forward to catching the import sometime during its theatrical run. Carlos Cuarón’s debut film spoils us with its rags to riches tale and actors Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna take their parts to heart: some of the heated arguments are especially well crafted. Tonite’s showing by the Museum of the Moving Image screening and Q&A with Bernal and Luna is sold out but we’ll announce two days ahead of schedule – that a comedy worth checking in Rudo u Cursi is our Daily Recommendation of the day.
