Eye Candy Galore: Superbowl Ads

Date:

With little fanfare for the actual game and more interest going towards the gazillion dollar commercial spots, the Superbowl also caters to those who couldn’t care less about the sport and for those who have an appetite for quick narratives that tickle the funny bone. We also had movie trailers for eight studio pics for summer blockbuster flicks (from the noteworthy in Wall-E, Wanted and Leatherheads  to the stuff we’ve seen before (just packaged differently) with Chronicles of Narnia, Iron Man, Jumper, Semi-Pro and You Don‘t Mess with the Zohan. As much as I am psyched to see the movie trailers (the surprise is unspoiled online days before) – it is the creative agency ads that really give me that mouthwatering feel (damn Budlight, Coke and Pepsi for making us thirsty). The top tiers for me were the Ugly Betty-like Planter’s commerical and Bud Light promo featuring Will Ferell in Semi-Pro character. If you want to see the entire list of 30-plus second spots click here. Enjoy!
