Think of her as this year’s Marion Cotillard. Showcased in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, French thesp Melanie Laurent might have made further strides in the English language film sector – landing a part in Mike Mills’ Beginners (currently shooting in Los Angeles). Also on board, is Goran Visnjic (Helen) who I imagine will be playing Christopher Plummer’s younger lover. I imagine that Laurent would play Ewan McGregor’s significant other or perhaps a hospital worker?
The storyline sees Ewan McGregor play a young man rocked by two announcements from his elderly father (Plummer)…one, that he has terminal cancer, and two, that he’s coming out of the closet.
