IFC world for the Material Girl

Date:

When Madonna’s picture preemed at the Berlin Film Festival, Variety remarked that “Madonna’s name will ensure some kind of distribution, but her already abundant riches won’t get any filthier off this”. With their latest pick up, IFC Entertainment are adding star value to their slate and bringing a bit more attention to the IFC brand and if the director turns up to do press week to support the film, then perhaps they’ll get what they wished for.

Variety reports that the singer, part-time actress and newbie director will see her Filth and Wisdom get a Fall release in 08′. Scripted by Madonna and Dan Cadan, described as a comedy/drama/musical/romance, the story
revolves around a Ukrainian immigrant named A.K. (Hütz) who finances his dreams
of rock glory by moonlighting as a cross-dressing dominatrix and his two female
flatmates: Holly (Weston), a ballet dancer who works as a stripper and
pole-dancer at a local club and Juliette (McClure), a pharmacy assistant who
dreams of going to Africa to help starving children. There seems to contain some wanna be autobigraphical elements in the picture.
