Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Audrey Tautou complete the Trilogy

Date:

Jean-Pierre Jeunet recently directed Audrey Tautou in Chanel, not the film (not to be confused with Anne Fontaine‘s Coco avant Chanel) but in a long form commercial. Feast your eyes on the commercial here.

In a ships that pass in the night romantic story-line, it is No.5 that adds to the lustfulness and final resolve. With sweeping camera movements, Jeunet’s toolbox includes crane, rack focus and god’s POV shots with a rich golden palette of colors that were used in A Very Long Engagement and judging by the color of the perfume in question – the tint seems well appropriate for this campaign.

Jeunet’s Micmacs à tire-larigot was a strong candidate for a Cannes slot showing, but with an October release in France it looks like we’ll be seeing the film play out at Venice and/or TIFF instead.
