Live from Fantasia : Mulberry Street

Date:

Mulberry Street (USA, 2007)
Director: Jim Mickle

Continuing the influx of independent cinema using September 11th/Katrina subtext, comes Mulberry street nibbling it’s way through your chest cavity and into your heart.

Infected flesh-eating rodents overrun Manhattan turning the populace into rat-mutants intent on doing the things that rat-mutants do; eating other people of course…

At it’s core, Mulberry street is a low budget zombie flick, so let’s cut to the chase. What the film lacks in originality, it makes up for in execution. The ensemble cast does a great job as Mulberry Street punches it’s way into kinetic overdrive. With visceral handheld immediacy, you’ll constantly be amazed that the acting is as good and the tension as tight as it is.
