Live from Fantasia : Wolfhound

Date:

Wolfhound (Russia, 2006)
Director: Nikolai Lebedev

From Russia with loincloths comes Wolfhound, the tale of a man so wracked with hatred for his enemies, that his pet bat is called in to lighten the mood with injured wing and big cutie-wutie eyes…

When a young boy’s mother and father are killed off by a Skeletor-like baddie, it leads to a lifelong obsession with revenge and melancholy posturing.

Not campy enough to act as an effective counterpoint to serious-minded fantasy epics, and not serious-minded enough to join the latter. So where does that leave us? Well, within the context of… oh my gawd! Look at those eyes! They’re so cuuute!
