Wayne McClammy strikes back! Silverman/Kimmel hanger-on and the man with probably the most unappealing name ever, has signed on to direct “Beat Kip” for recently downsized studio Paramount Vantage.
Comedy Central is producing this gem of a story, following three friends traveling cross country to confront an Ivy League nemesis who stole one of the guys’ girlfriends. First of all, air travel is expensive. Why visit some guy you hate to ream him for stealing your unfaithful girlfriend? Second of all, air travel is expensive, and maybe this is the reason she left anyway.
Todd Waldman and Rob Kerkovich (of the comedy troupe “Summer of Tears”) wrote this original screenplay and it was optioned by Paramount in March.
McClammy’s video segments for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” include the spoofs “I’m F**king Ben Affleck” and “I’m F**king Matt Damon”. These vids are still logging millions of hits and are the probable cause behind McClammy’s rise to (nerdy director) stardom. Besides the hilarity of “Beat Kip”, McClammy is helming “Cool School” for Fox and has “Le Car”, a spec piece, in the works for MGM as well, so, kudos.
