I wonder how many others have ever thought about decorating a piece of their home with a specific film in mind. The antithesis of a Pedro Almodovar set, the author over at apartmenttherapy.com admires thatALL of the interiors are modest. None of them scream money, flash namebrands or seek to overpower. The rooms sit quietly back while the humanity of the inhabitants come forward. As a viewer, it creates a rich experience, and as a designer it reminded me that the aim of design is to enable humanity, not distract from it.”

And speaking of Henckel von Donnersmarck, his next project The 28th Amendment is currently going thru some rewrites and at one point, it had Tom Cruise circling the project (it was reported today that James Mangold won the Cruise lottery – the actor will join the action comedy titled Wichita). Based on the Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci’s spec, 28th Amendment revolves around a young U.S. president who discovers the existence of a secret cabal that runs the government and wants him dead. Let’s hope that if this Hollywood project does become his next venture that he somehow has the same volition to include the many stylistic and atmospherics that were expertly embedded in his Oscar winning film.
