My Pick: Adriana Barraza – Babel
Outside the Box: Shareeka Epps – Half Nelson

Comments: And odd category this year with the two best commanding performances coming via the same film. This equation plus the fact that the foreign language and unfamilairnes of the two actresses means that Hudson gets the nod. The only misfire win during an evening where worthy victors took the gold statues.
