The Gist: Based on the Bernard Schlink novel, and scripted
by David Hare this tells the tale of fifteen-year-old Michael Berg who
is rescued by Hanna, a woman twice his age. In time she becomes his
lover–then she inexplicably disappears. When Michael next sees her, he
is a young law student, and she is on trial for a hideous crime.

Fact: Kidman has just dropped out of the project in favor of Kate Winslet.

See It: Fans of Daldry’s The Hours and Schlink’s novel are very much looking forward to this piece. Prediction: Oscar noms for Best Actress.     

Release Date/Status?: This is the sort of project that is synonymous with year-end award-season kudos. A December 12th release date is a lock.
