WIP signs up David Gordon Green for 2

Is David Gordon Green going Hollywood? Not exactly, but the projects are getting a whole lot bigger and perhaps more indie-mainstream than George Washington and All the Real Girls. After picking up the excellent Snow Angels in multiple territories, THR announced that Warner Independent Pictures  is looking to have the director write and direct a screen adaptation of John Grisham's The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town.

The book is based on a true story.  Set up by George Clooney and Grant Heslov's production company Smoke House, The Innocent Man tells the true story of a gross miscarriage of justice that sent Ron Williamson to Oklahoma's death row for 11 years for a murder he did not commit. Among the flimsy evidence: eyewitness testimony from the man ultimately convicted of the murder.

Workaholic DGG is currently filming Columbia Pictures’
The Pineapple Express in Los Angeles. Look for my Sundance interview with him (where we discuss Snow Angels) shortly.
