Every Secret Thing

Writer: Nicole Holofcener
Producers: Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman, Frances McDormand
U.S. Distributor: Rights Available
Cast: Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Banks, Diane Lane

Based on the Laura Lippman (novel) Documentary filmmaker Amy Berg makes her feature debut with this intriguing thriller. Based on a novel by Laura Lippman, director Nicole Holofcener adapted the screenplay, which is certainly one of several exciting and curious aspects of the film. Likewise, Berg has amassed a trio of notable headliners, including Elizabeth Banks, Dakota Fanning, and Diane Lane, for what promises to be a top notch title to look forward to in the coming year.

Gist: A detective looks to unravel a mystery surrounding missing children and the prime suspects: two young women who, seven years ago, were put away for an infant’s death.

Release Date: While we thought this would pop up at Sundance, it could be a contender for Cannes, perhaps a title ripe for Directors’ Fortnight. Otherwise, this might be something we see premiere in Venice.
