Pastors Join ‘Strange’ Project

Date:

Nice to see that filmmaking brother duo David and Alex Pastor haven’t been eradicated from business – their first feature film made less than 100 grand at the box office – Paramount Vantage pulled Carriers after one week in theaters. The Pastors are attached to direct the project mounted by GreeneStreet Films and Civil Dawn Pictures’ Ross Katz and Fred Berger.

Strange, but True is based on John Searles’ offbeat mystery novel that begins when a teenager’s girlfriend arrives at his family’s home five years after his death insisting that she is pregnant with his child. Sort of sounds like Shana Feste’ The Greatest put without the shrouded in mystery component. Eric Garcia penned the screenplay. David Pastor mentioned to Variety that the screenplay has elements of Fargo and A Simple Plan. Bring out the winter shoot I say. Coincidently shooting would begin in February/March.
