Real Girls’ Zooey Deschanel cast in Gordon Green’s Your Highness

Date:

It will be a pub crawl reunion for Zooey Dechanel – she has just signed up to play alongside her All the Real Girls‘ co-star Danny McBride and her director David Gordon Green. In this chain mail and horses comedy, she plays Belladonna, Franco’s virginal bride. It was in the The Good Girl and Green’s second feature film (which was actually supposed to be his first before George Washington) where I took notice of Zooey, and more recently some critics melted for her remarkably piercing set of blue eyes in 500 Days of Summer. She’ll probably head out to the U.K once she has completed press for the Sundance hit.

Scripted by McBride and Ben Best, McBride will play an arrogant, lazy prince who must complete a quest to save his father’s kingdom. Franco plays his brother. Portman plays the warrior princess.

Is anyone actually looking forward to seeing this? Does anyone else think this will also happen to be a toker comedy?
