Portman to Portray a Warrior Princess in ‘Your Highness’

Date:

It might be wishful thinking to hope that the buddy comedy will follow in footsteps of well-written girlfriend characters from David Gordon Green‘s previous films (Zooey Deschanel in All the Real Girls and Olivia Thirlby in Snow Angels) especially when we take into consideration that DGG didn’t write the screenplay and that the shape of this studio pic will serve up other distractions. A-lister Natalie Portman has signed on to join the Pineapple Express‘ duo of James Franco and Danny McBride in Your Highness with production set to begin this summer in the U.K. McBride, who wrote the script with Ben Best, plays an arrogant lazy prince who with his brother (Franco) must complete a quest to save the kingdom and his brother’s fiance. Portman will play a warrior princess that the lazy prince falls in love with.

Variety reminds us that the actress is currently starring and producing one of the must see indie flicks of 2010 in Spencer Susser-directed Hesher, and she’ll been seen in Oscar-bait drama (Brothers) from Jim Sheridan.
