John Curran’s Next Film is Set in ‘Stone’

Date:

Before setting out to direct Betsy and the Emperor (04/07/2009), John Curran has queued up a side job set in Pittsburgh due to lense next month and starring Bobby De NIro. Casting and the producers behind the project will be announced shortly, but Production Weekly is the first to break the news that Curran will direct from a play written by Junebug writer Angus MacLachlan. The pic would see De Niro would play a parole officer who develops a friendship with a teaching assistant (Sienna Miller‘s name was attached). The two characters become romantically linked and have a highly charged sexual relationship. The excellent Meryl Streep would play his unhappy wife.
