‘Greenburg’ Proves that Acting Career in ‘Focus’ for Gerwig

Date:

I’m sure that there will be others to follow in their footsteps, but the grandfathers and grandmothers (albeit they are in the thirty-something in age) of the Mumblecore movement are slowly finding themselves working in mainstream indie. Jay and Mark Duplass are in production with a project for Fox Searchlight, and now Greta Gerwig (who has partnered on many Joe Swanberg items) is going to topline what is now a Focus Features comedy helmed by Noah Baumbach. Focus were circling Greenburg for a while now and have finally landed a deal to distribute the pic.

The Gotham girl next door blonde will play alongside Ben Stiller and she will most likely making mental notes on how Baumbach goes about directing her. She made her directing debut with Nights and Weekends.

Shooting begins next month.
