2014 Cannes Critics’ Panel Predictions: Palme d’Or Toss Up Between “Deux Jours, Une Nuit” & “Mommy”

Date:

[Updated!] Last year our Cannes Critics’ Panel accurately predicted how the Steven Spielberg jury would vote. Will we repeat it this year with the Jane Campion bunch? We’ve still got some votes to tabulate, (check out our fancy graph below) out of 16 critics who supplied us with their predictions, we now have a two-way tie . The Dardenne’s would be poised to walk away with their third record-breaking Palme d’Or win for Deux Jours, Une Nuit, while some of our prognosticators, think it’ll go to the youngest winner in the fest’s history with Xavier Dolan’s Mommy. Winter Sleep and Leviathan are fairing well as possible winners. More updates later tomorrow plus Cannes winner coverage tonite – I’ll be in the press conference room.

Legend: Gold – Palme. Silver – Grand Prix. Bronze – Jury Prize. Red – Personal Palme
