SPC Buys into ‘Get Low’ Legend
Making it two for two on this post-TIFF Monday, Sony Pictures Classics have acquired the rights to Aaron Schneider’s feature debut - a picture that I had little affection for, but this backwoods 30's dramedy managed to find some strong critical support from Variety and Indiewire's Anne Thompson and even bud Alex Billington from Firstshowing was charmed.
Sundance Selects ‘Steal’ Rights to Don Argott’s Stolen Artwork Docu
There is a little bit of irony to be found in the first official first pick-up among the doc films that played at TIFF. Sundance's newly formed theatrical distribution arm Sundance Selects has picked up the rights to a doc film that paints the Annenberg Foundation in unflattering, black-eye kind of manner.
