Cinema Eye Awards favor Man on Wire, Waltz with Bashir and Up the Yangtze
The mission that was started same time last year is just as important this year despite the final results. In hindsight, the 2nd edition of the annual Cinema Eye awards will probably be one of those rare years where the Academy Awards' Best Doc winner matches/mimics the one selected by this avant-garde award group. James Marsh’s Man on Wire was hailed as the Best Documentary film by just about everyone, so it was a non-surprise on who would claim the evening's top honor.

Zhang Yimou’s Checking out the ‘City’ for next Projects
In a difficult economical climate, Zhang Yimou has decided to sacrifice a bigger, more costly production about 1937's massacre of Nanjing and instead turn towards making people laugh. Known for recently making high end action films (he made a name for himself a second time with the very popular Hero and House of Flying Daggers, Yimou will, according to Screen Daily shoot a black comedy with comedians Zhao Benshan and Xiao Shenyang.
