Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: George Clooney’s The Ides of March

Exactly one vote behind the Number 1 spot on the 2007 BlackList, Clooney who we like best in political satires/dramas/thrillers has assembled an incredible ensemble cast here -- top players that will make the behind the scenes banter helluva fun time - think Wag the Dog with more factual bits.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: Aki Kaurismaki’s Le Havre

With only a pair of films made in the past decade with The Man Without a Past (2002) and Lights in the Dusk (2006), we are itching for Kaurismaki's brand of dramatic comedy.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: Richard Linklater’s Bernie

Jack Black's stock has perhaps plummeted to its lowest point, and I have a feeling that this true crime story exploring the darker side of the human condition is the counter-programming role that might do the trick. Linklater calls it his Fargo. I call this a must see. Mike Leigh's dp Dick Pope lenses for a second consecutive time for Linklater.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: Julie Delpy’s 2 Days in New York

Neurotic characters, cataclysmic situations from a tender point of view is to be expected in this second volume which gos musical chairs on us heading to another mecca. Julie Delpy’s 2011 will first begin with the release of Skylab - a family comedy saga set over two days with flashbacks and then we get this film which confirms Chris Rock's love for the French film. We generally liked volume one, and we have a soft-spot for any sequel that this actress is involved in (Three Colors, Before Sunset) and we like the tragi-relationship elements she likes to explore and the dialogue is normally her strong suit.

Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: Pen-ek Ratanaruang’s Headshot

Despite not being big on his last pair Ploy and Nymph as we mentioned before, we damn well love the concept of shooting from the perspective of the film's lead and with dp Chankit Chamnivikaipong once again onboard we expect this to visually deliver.
