Syndromes and a Century tops Reverse Shot’s Best of 2007

Date:

Indiewire's review crew (Reverse Shot's Michael Koresky, Kristi Mitsuda, Nicolas Rapold, Jeff Reichert, Michael Joshua Rowin, Andrew Tracy, Elbert Ventura, and Chris Wisniewski) have tabulated their favorite films of the year – a top ten list worth checking out and in my case serving as a reminder to get my hands on picks 1 and 10 (titles that are difficult to get a hold of). You have the three American classic heavyweights from Fincher, the Coen's and PTA that are jousting on many other critic fav. lists, we also have two art-house favs in Todd Haynes and Cristian Mungiu on the top 10er. Philippe Garrel's black and white low budget Regular Lovers, Tsai Ming-liang's bed-moving and helping out a stranger I Don't Want to Sleep Alone and the poignant, soccer stadium affair in Jafar Panahi's Offside  and Pedro Costa's Colossal Youth round out the list.
