Moscow Drool: Alison Oliver & Yura Borisov Top Emily Mortimer’s Directing Debut ‘Dennis’

Date:

After three decades of performing for the camera, actress Emily Mortimer is getting into the director’s chair for a project mounted with the cool kids at A24 and Fruit Tree prod. company. Alison Oliver and Yura Borisov (clearly Anora helped his international career) will topline the set in the 90s project titled Dennis. No production start date was given by Deadline, but we have the complete producing team identified in Emma Stone, Dave McCary and Ali Herting for Fruit Tree alongside King Bee Productions’ Mortimer, her hubby Alessandro Nivola and Lizzie Nastro Adler. Exec producers include Intake’s Joshua Horsfield, Proton Cinema’s Viktória Petrányi and Lighthouse’s Jacob Epstein. If production takes place this summer — Dennis could be a 2026 offering or premiere at the newly located Sundance Film Festival in ’27.

Written by Mortimer, the film follows a British student (Oliver) and a Russian poet (Borisov) who fall in love in 1990s Moscow.
