Top 200 Most Anticipated Foreign Films of 2023: #146. Pedro Pinho’s Amanhã Será Outro Dia

Date:

Amanhã Será Outro Dia

Portuguese filmmaker Pedro Pinho got behind the camera for four months and on location in Guinea Bissau and Mauritania for his sophomore feature film. Amanhã Será Outro Dia is produced by Bubbles Project’s Tatiana Leite. His three-hour feature debut The Nothing Factory was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight in 2017 – to critical acclaim. Between projects he helped produce a handful of features and shorts.

Gist: This is about a Portuguese environmental engineer who decides to change his life traveling to a West African metropolis to work on a road-building project to link the jungle and the desert. Taken aback by the harshness of the elements, the oppressive heat and his loneliness, he meets two locals driven by a strong desire to escape and shake off their origins.

Release Date/Prediction: We don’t have any progress reports so it’s difficult to narrow a premiere date but this could easily drop in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight again.
