2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Jeff Baena’s The Little Hours

Date:

Can filmmaker Jeff Baena get the triple crown of Sundance invites? So far two for two with his feature films in 2014’s Life After Beth and 2016’s Joshy, the filmmaker didn’t waste much time between features flying out of the gates and into Italy with his third feature. The ice cream sundae topping list of comedians signed up for The Little Hours includes several habituals from his previous pair of films: Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Dave Franco, Kate Micucci, John C Reilly, Molly Shannon, Fred Armisen, Jon Gabrus, Jemima Kirke, Nick Offerman, Adam Pally, Paul Reiser, Lauren Weedman and Paul Weitz.

Gist: Nothing is known about the dark comedy except, that it was shot in Italy.

Production Co./Producers: Destro Films’ Elizabeth Destro, Aubrey Plaza.

Prediction: Premieres section.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). Concourse Media (international)
